Professional Development Program - "Getting to the C-Suite: Reaching for the Top in Business and Life" - November 12, 2013
Alumni in the DC area attended a professional development program entitled, "What does it take to become a CEO, COO, CFO or other "C-suite" executive?" How do you accomplish this while managing to have a "real life"? Panelists included Lisa Hook AB '80, President and CEO of Neustar, Inc., a provider of real-time information, analysis and cyber security threat protection for the government, internet, telecommunications, entertainment and marketing industries; and Rachel Braun Scherl '87, CEO of SPARK Solutions for Growth; regular contributor to The Huffington Post, and former President of Semprae Laboratories, Inc. The program was held from 6:00-8:30pm at Goulston & Storrs.

Executive Coach and Duke Graduate, Debby Stone '84, JD'89 presented a highly interactive session on how to tell your unique story and promote your value in an authentic way to anyone, anytime. Duke Alums Engage DC - April 27, 2013
Alums, friends, and family volunteered at the fourth annual Duke Alums Engage project at Ludlow-Taylor Elementary. Starting at 9:30am, activities included a 1-mile course walk around Capitol Hill neighborhood, yoga stretches, and lessons on nutrition.

More than 75 students and alumni gathered on Thursday, November 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gordon Biersch Brewery (900 F Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20004). This reception was a a great opportunity for alumni to catch up with friends and meet other members of the D.C. Duke Law community, and served as a welcome to recent graduates in the area.
