Entrepreneurship Immersion

Entrepreneurship Immersion provides students with concentrated exposure to the legal, business and regulatory aspects of early-stage company formation. In partnership with Durham's Triangle Start-up Factory, the class pairs each student with one of the companies selected to participate in the Start-up Factory's Accelerator Program. Each student joins the founding team of his or her start-up and engages in the real-world process of creating a company. This practical application of entrepreneurial skills is paired with classroom instruction each day in the range of business and legal issues likely to be encountered by practitioners. The course addresses the major areas each start-up must consider, from the various perspectives of company founders, investors, customers, and lawyers who represent each constituency.
