It is important for us to have your current address. As an alum, you’ll receive copies of Duke Law Magazine, periodic updates from the Dean and invitations to alumni events, but you won’t get them unless we have the correct address. You can update your address online, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit the Duke Alumni Association Directory (see below).
Alumni Directory/E-Mail Account
Around July 1, 2014 you will have access to the Duke Alumni Association Directory. This directory allows you to:
- search all Duke alums (not just Law alums); and
- see and update your contact information.
You will need to create your own user name and password through theDuke Alumni Association Directory login.
Around this time, you will also be able to sign up for a lifetime alumni e-mail address (ending in @alumni.duke.edu). This is not a fully-functioning account; it is an address that will forward to another account of your choice (yahoo, hotmail, etc.). Go to the Duke Alumni Association website and click on “Member Services” and follow the links from there.
Please note: This is an alternative to your Law School-specific lifetime e-mail address (ending in @LAWnet.duke.edu), described below.
Duke Law E-Mail/Server Access
You will continue to have your Duke-issued NetID, including access to your Duke Exchange email account and Duke file storage, until May 2015. At that time, all access will end, and any messages and files will be deleted and will NOT be recoverable. Messages addressed to your DUKE.EDU address on and after that date will be returned to the sender as undeliverable. Your LAWnet.duke.edu email address will continue to function if you have changed its target from your Duke Exchange email account to another email account you may have (your work email or Gmail, for instance). Please visit http://law.duke.edu/actech/yearend2014 for more information and other details.
