Genetics and Reproductive Technologies

This course will examine central issues in bioethics that have arisen from the development of advanced reproductive technologies. We will discuss the legal, policy, and ethical implications of such topics as: the donation or sale of genetic material; posthumous reproduction; sex selection of one's children; genetic enhancement; surrogacy; and fertility tourism.

The course grade will be based on two short reaction papers throughout the term (approximately 3 pages in length), one final paper (approximately 20 - 25 pages in length), and participation.
