The panel also included Northwestern JD/MBA Divya Narendra (CEO, SumZero and prior co-founder with the Winklevoss Twins of ConnectU, the site that inspired Facebook), Northwestern JD/MBA Curt Goldman (CEO, Cadre Noir Imports) and Columbia JD/MBA John Saroff (Former Google, NBC and Vente-Privee executive; current contributor to Fortune/CNN; named one of the 40 most influential in media under 40). Duke lawyers and Law alumni participated in a special discussion and reception with Duke alum Kevin Maillard '94, Associate Professor of Law at Syracuse University, and co-author of Loving v. Virginia in a Post-Racial World: Rethinking Race, Sex, and Marriage. The book takes a look at modern families 45 years after the Supreme Court declared anti-miscegenation laws unconstitutional in Loving v. Virginia. This case is often discussed in tandem with same sex marriage. Kevin was joined by co-author Rose Cuison Villazor from Hofstra University.

Some of the key issues covered included defining who is the client (corporation/firm, board, shareholders, etc.), keeping communications confidential, recognizing and resolving conflicts of interest, and addressing situations in which the client may be concealing crucial information.
