The Fifth Annual Triangle L&E Conference—Rethinking Regulation and Reform: Behavioral Economics and the Regulatory State—will be addressing issues at the intersection of behavioral economics and law with a special focus on the applications of decision science, choice architecture, and nudging to law, regulation, and policy.

Panel topics for the conference: behavioral finance, health, fraud & corruption, energy & climate change, tax salience, rethinking behavior-ism

Historically a faculty-run joint effort between Duke Law School, UNC School of Law, and the Fuqua School of Business, the Conference is now a student-run initiative that has been expanded to be highly inter- and cross-disciplinary, involving faculty from across Economics, Psychology, Neuroscience, Philosophy, History, Neurobiology, the Nicholas School of the Environment and Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, the School of Medicine, Fuqua, the Sanford School of Public Policy, the Center for Advanced Hindsight, the Behavioral Science and Policy Center, and Law, as well as several other campus-based centers, programs, and initiatives at both Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill.

The purpose of the Conference is to facilitate interdisciplinary discussion, rather than canned presentations between panelists, that will make for an engaging, generative, and fun examination into a particular issue from the lens of behavioral law and economics with creative and pragmatic solutions to the problems captured by the issues that the panels pose.

For questions, contact Shanna Lehrman.
