This seminar will examine the complex ethical and legal issues that arise in medical care and research, particularly issues arising from advances in biomedical technology. We will look at a variety of bioethical concerns in three general medical contexts: clinical care, medical research, and public health. The seminar will conclude with a look at critiques of the current bioethics model.
