From Advocate to Judge: A Conversation with Judge Mark W. Bennett

Judge Mark W. Bennett served as a United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of Iowa from 1994 to 2019. Before that, he served as general counsel to the Iowa Civil Liberties Union. Throughout his career, he has been a vocal advocate for judicial reform and innovation, especially on the topics of implicit bias and criminal sentencing. He will be joining us via Zoom to discuss these issues and his experiences both as a judge and as a civil rights advocate. Sponsored by Duke Law ACLU.
