Building a Career in a Second Language: an Advanced Communication Primer

November 04, 2016 • 12:30 PM • Law School 4047

Successful lawyers are master communicators who excel at conveying information both orally and in writing to their clients and counterparts in the legal profession. For non-native English speakers, this may present unique challenges, especially in the realm of oral communication. Join Brad Teague PhD. and Kaitlyn Aigner of the Duke University Graduate School for an interactive presentation on improving English pronunciation and communication skills for the global work environment. The presenters, who teach in the English for International Students program at Duke University, will help students hone their oral advocacy skills by improving clarity of pronunciation. Attendance is limited (first-come, first-served) and RSVP is required. To RSVP, please visit: https://duke.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1ZV5LIiqpGY7nj7. Sponsored by the International Studies Department. For more information, please contact Jena Reger at reger@law.duke.edu.
