Coming to America: Personal Perspectives from a Variety of Immigrants

November 21, 2016 • 12:30 PM • Law School 3037

Learn about the real-world challenges of immigration law from firsthand stories and personal experiences, as told by a refugee, a diversity visa applicant, and someone who works with undocumented immigrants (unfortunately, it is not safe to invite an actual undocumented person to speak on their own behalf). Legal context will be provided by local immigration lawyer and law professor Lynn Calder. In the wake of this presidential election is a great time to become more informed about immigration policies and hear from the people who are directly impacted; even if this is not an area of interest for you, we hope to see you there! Lunch will be provided. Sponsored by Human Rights Law Society. For more information, please contact Chelsea DeMoss at chelsea.demoss@duke.edu.
