Duke Immigrant & Refugee Project Advocacy Hour: Immigration on the Ballot
October 20, 2022 • 12:30 PM • Law School 4042
Join the Duke Immigrant and Refugee Project (DIRP) as we host Daniel Melo, staff attorney at North Carolina Justice Center, for an advocacy event to learn about the Afghan Adjustment Act as well as the potential termination of Title 42. This event will offer insights for students interested in legal advocacy especially as it pertains to recent events related to the influx of Afghan immigrants after the fall of the Afghan government and how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted immigration. Mr. Melo will speak on both topics and field student questions for the first half of the event. The event will end with an opportunity to directly participate in advocacy work by contacting congress members. Lunch will be provided. Sponsored by Duke Immigrant & Refugee Project. Spots are limited, please RSVP her: https://bit.ly/3EN6FJ7. Contact Grace Li at g.li@duke.edu with any questions!
