March 15, 2021 • 12:30 PM • Virtual

Has the FDA really kept us safe during the COVID-19 pandemic? What can we learn to better protect the population in the future? Join us for a discussion with Michael Cannon, the Cato Institute's Director of Health Policy Studies, and Duke Law Robinson O. Everett Professor Nita Farahany. Mr. Cannon and Professor Farahany will provide commentary on the FDA's role in handling the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, the two scholars will discuss how the FDA handled COVID-19 tests and vaccine approval, as well as what the pandemic has revealed about the agency across the board. Sponsored by the Duke Law Federalist Society. Co-sponsored by the Duke Initiative for Science & Society, the Duke Center on Science & Technology Policy, and the Duke Health Law Society.
