February 07, 2012 • 12:15 PM • Law School 3037

Join Duke Law SJDs Dian Shah from Malaysia and Nir Shnaiderman from Israel for a public presentation of their publications on Indefinite Detention Regimes in the U.S., U.K., Malaysia, and Israel. The four nations, each with its own unique political characteristics, face different kinds of threats to their national security. Shah and Shnaiderman will show how each nation deals with these threats through indefinite detentions and explore the important questions that arise in any regime of indefinite detention. Duke Law SJD Andrew Rens from South Africa will moderate the event. The event is co-sponsored by CICL Center for International & Comparative Law and the SJD program at Duke Law. Lunch will be served.
