Join LALSA and NALSA in a discussion about the legal contours of cultural appropriation in fashion in celebration of Native American History Month. Brian Lewis, the lead attorney on Navajo Nation v. Urban Outfitters, a case alleging that Urban Outfitters sold goods under the Navajo name without permission, will join Brigitte Vézina, a cultural heritage IP lawyer; Rachel Tobias, a Tribal cultural assets litigator; and Chantal Flores, a journalist who covered the new IP law in Mexico that criminalizes the use of Indigenous cultural expressions, following allegations against Zara and Ralph Lauren for intellectual theft, in discussion.
