Legal Observer Training

November 02, 2018 • 12:30 PM • Law School 3037

Want to put your law school education to good use? Want to protect civil rights? Want to wear a super fashionable neon green hat? Come get trained as a Legal Observer! The National Lawyers Guild's Legal Observer program is part of a comprehensive system of legal support for people expressing their right to protest. Legal Observers are neutral parties who document arrests, use of force, denial of access, and other infringements on protest rights. This information is vital to defending the rights of protesters. The training will be conducted by Elizabeth Haddix, Co-Director of the Julius L. Chambers Center for Civil Rights. Sponsored by the Duke Law National Lawyers Guild.
