Practicing and Teaching Law in Japan and elsewhere: A Conversation with Colin Jones, Doshisha University Law School

March 03, 2015 • 12:30 PM • Law School 4000

Please join the JD-LLM Program for a conversation with Colin Jones '93, a visiting professor of Law at Duke, for a conversation about living and practicing law in Japan: first as associate and counsel at some of the largest U.S. law firms in New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong and, later, as academic. Mr. Jones teaches at Doshisha University Law School in Kyoto and had a fascinating legal career, which took him from New York to Hong Kong, Tokyo and Guam. He will discuss his career-path, day-to-day work in private practice and how and why he made the transition to teaching. Sponsored by the JD-LLM Program in International and Comparative Studies. Lunch will be provided. For more information, please contact Oleg Kobelev at kobelev@law.duke.edu.
