Re-Entry Simulation
March 02, 2024 • 1:00 PM • Brodie Recreation Center
Rebuilding a life after incarceration is difficult. How difficult? Join us on Saturday, March 2nd at Brodie Gym's upper courts on Duke's East Campus from 1 to 4 p.m. to experience it for yourself at our Reentry Simulation. This immersive, three-hour event is being put on by the Duke Justice Project and OurJourney, a North Carolina non-profit founded by formerly incarcerated people. Attendees will essentially play a "role-playing game," in which they adopt the persona of a recently released prisoner, and learn how hard it is to navigate the world. There will be time at the end for sharing and hearing from speakers.
Lunch is provided, and attendance is absolutely free to both Duke and non-Duke affiliates, but you must register before February 27th because space is limited. If you are not a Duke affiliate, please also let us know whether or not you need parking.
