A team of Duke professors with experience working for the federal government will examine the early results of an Executive Order President Obama issued earlier this year requiring agencies to review their rules and clear out ones that had outlived their usefulness. The team, which includes Stuart Benjamin, Duke Law (formerly Federal Communications Commission) Ronnie Chatterji, Fuqua School of Business (formerly President's Council of Economic Advisors) Arti Rai, Duke Law (formerly U. S. Patent and Trademark Office), and Jonathan Wiener, Duke Law (formerly President's Council of Economic Advisors) will explain this regulatory housecleaning against the backdrop of heightened political contentiousness about the regulatory state.
