Katie Ertmer
Senior Lecturing Fellow

Katie Ertmer is a corporate lawyer who works in the areas of company formation, corporate financing, product financing, and complex intellectual property collaborations.  Ms. Ertmer represents companies and investors of all sizes in transactions involving venture capital investments, private placements, royalty financings, and strategic partnerships.

Ms. Ertmer received her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. Before law school, Ms. Ertmer worked as a city planner for two cities in Northern California. She received her J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from Duke Law School, where she was a Mordecai Scholar and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Duke Law Journal.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ertmer clerked on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals for the Honorable James A. Wynn, Jr.
