Matt Martens is a trial lawyer and partner in the Washington, DC office of WilmerHale LLP, where he co-chairs the firm’s Securities Litigation and Enforcement Group. He has tried 25 cases and is one of the few lawyers who has appeared--and won--at trial at all "four tables": civil plaintiff, civil defendant, criminal prosecutor, and criminal defendant. Previously, Matt served as Chief Litigation Counsel at the US. Securities and Exchange Commission and as an Assistant US Attorney. He began his career as a law clerk to Judge David B. Sentelle on the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuot and then for Chief Justice William Rehnquist at the US Supreme Court. Matt graduated first in his class both at the University of North Carolina School of Law and at Dallas Theological Seminary.
