Julia launched her legal career in New York City, first at Willkie Farr & Gallagher as an Executive Compensation and Benefits attorney, followed by a traditional employment, litigation and labor practice at Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman and, most recently, DLA Piper. During her six years in private practice, Julia also worked with women's committees and as a legal blogger on work-life balance, flexible work arrangements, and having a family and a career in law firm practice. Prior to law school, she spent a year working in Germany as a Fulbright Scholar. Julia is a native of Durham and graduate of Duke University and Duke University School of Law.
