Alex Jakubow is Associate Director for Empirical Research and Data Support Services (ERDS) at the Goodson Law Library. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Rutgers University and holds a dual B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of Richmond.
Prior to Duke, Alex was Empirical Research Librarian at the University of Virginia School of Law and has worked for many years as an applied statistician and social scientist. He has also taught classes in political science and research methodology at several institutions of higher education---including Rutgers University, California State University San Marcos, New Mexico State University, and the University of Virginia.
Alex works with the rest of the ERDS team to support empirical scholarship and instruction at Duke Law. He co-chairs the American Association of Law Libraries Empirical Research Caucus and is a member of the Empirical Legal Studies Association, the International Association for Social Science Information Services and Technology, and the Society for Political Methodology. His interests include causal inference, computational thinking, and text analytics.
