At a lunchtime event sponsored by the JD-LLM Program in International and Comparative Law, John Simpkins '99, General Counsel of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), talked about his role as the lead attorney overseeing the multi-billion dollar budget of the government agency responsible for civilian foreign aid. Prior to his current position at USAID, Simpkins served as Deputy General Counsel at the Office of Management and Budget in the Obama Administration. He also spoke about his career path, day-to-day work, and offered advice to students interested in a career involving international trade and development work.
