Dean David F. Levi interviewed David Rubenstein T'70, co-founder and co-CEO of The Carlyle Group, one of the world’s largest private equity firms. Rubenstein co-founded the firm in 1987. Since then, The Carlyle Group has grown into a firm managing $200 billion from 36 offices around the world. Elected to the Duke University Board of Trustees in 2005, he currently serves as chair. He chairs the Executive Committee and is a member of the Subcommittee on Trusteeship. He previously served on the Business and Finance Committee, Academic Affairs Committee, and Institutional Advancement Committee and chaired the Committee on Honorary Degrees.
