Post-Graduation

Graduation events, including the Law School's Convocation, have been postponed. Duke remains committed to having an in-person celebration of the Class of 2020 on campus at a later date. This page will be updated as information becomes available. Please contact the Office of Student Affairs with questions.

Address Updates

It is important for us to have your current address. As an alum, you’ll receive copies of Duke Law Magazine, periodic updates from the Dean and invitations to alumni events, but you won’t get them unless we have the correct address. You can update your address online, e-mail alumni_office@law.duke.edu, or visit the Duke Alumni Association Directory (see below).

Alumni Directory/E-Mail Account

Around July 1, 2020 you will have access to the Duke Alumni Association Directory. This directory allows you to:

  1. search all Duke alums (not just Law alums); and
  2. see and update your contact information.

You will need to create your own user name and password through the Duke Alumni Association Directory login.

Around this time, you will also be able to sign up for a lifetime alumni e-mail address (ending in @alumni.duke.edu). This is not a fully-functioning account; it is an address that will forward to another account of your choice (yahoo, hotmail, etc.). Go to the Duke Alumni Association website. scroll to the bottom of the page and follow the links from there.

Please note: This is an alternative to your Law School-specific lifetime e-mail address (ending in @LAWnet.duke.edu), described below.

Duke Law E-Mail/Server Access

You will continue to have your Duke-issued NetID, including access to your Duke Office 365 account and Duke file storage, until May 2021. At that time, all access will end, and any messages and files will be deleted and unrecoverable. Messages addressed to your duke.edu address on and after that date will be returned to the sender as undeliverable. Your lawnet.duke.edu address will continue to function if you have changed its target from your Duke Office 365 account to another email account you have (your work or personal email, for instance).

Law School Convocation Pictures

Proofs of your individual Law School Convocation pictures will be e-mailed to you directly from the photographer (Photo Specialties) within one week of the event and mailed within two weeks. Instructions on how to order will be included.

Law School Convocation DVDs

The complete Law School Convocation will be available for purchase on DVD. The purchase price is $20. You may order the DVD online when you register for the Law School events. If you do not decide until after graduation that you would like to purchase a DVD, please contact the Office of Student Affairs at (919) 613-7007.

DVDs will be shipped to the preferred address provided in your Event Registration form.
