Class Participation and Engaging Your Professors: Hands-On Strategies

October 04, 2019 • 12:30 PM • Law School 4055

Feeling awkward about raising your hand? Not sure how to ask the right questions? Wondering why the same person always gets called on? Class participation helps the learning process, for developing oral skills as attorneys, for ensuring that a diverse cross-section of students and ideas are represented in the classroom, to develop relationships with professors, and often, because it factors into grades. All are welcome for a workshop discussing specific strategies you can use each day in class for effective participation in 1L classes, as well as alternatives for getting to know your professors. Lunch will be served. Co-sponsored by WLSA and WOCC. For more information, contact Sarah Laws (sarah.laws@duke.edu).
