Duke Law Teaching Initiative Speakers: Jean Stefancic and Richard Delgado

September 23, 2016 • 12:30 PM • Law School 4042

Drawing on scholarship they have written about legal formalism and the hedonic level of lawyers' lives, Richard Delgado and Jean Stefancic will discuss the hidden relationship between Archibald MacLeish, ace lawyer and aspiring writer, and Ezra Pound, eccentric, supremely talented Imagist poet, to consider the balance between imagination and doctrine in the lives of lawyers and legal academics. They will also offer some ideas on how diversity can play a role in teaching students about law and social change. For law faculty only. Sponsored by the Duke Law Teaching Initiative.
