Street Law-Durham Youth Home Interest Meeting

February 01, 2018 • 12:30 PM • Law School 4055

Please join Street Law to learn more about what we do with the kids at the Durham Youth Home. It's a great way to be involved with and have an impact on the community while in law school in Durham. Through the Durham Youth Home Street Law Project, Duke law students work with kids in juvenile detention, to teach them about the criminal justice system, children's rights, the political system, constitutional issues and much more. The students design interactive lessons for the kids, and we really get to know them and support them. The time commitment is minimal, but it is very fulfilling and a great way to get out of the law school bubble and experience the community. We will also be looking for more leadership toward the end of the semester, so this would be a great time to get involved. Lunch will be provided (no pizza). Sponsored by the Office of Public Interest & Pro Bono and DBA. For more information, please contact Patrick Butler (patrick.butler@duke.edu) or Abbey McNaughton abbey.mcnaughton@duke.edu) if you have any questions.
