The Duke Law community enjoys 24-hour access to the Law School and Goodson Law Library with a current DukeCard. Current members of the Duke University community may access the library during service desk staffing hours. A DukeCard is required for entrance to the Law School building after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and on the weekend.
The Duke Law School and Goodson Law Library entrances are open to the general public from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. After these hours, only current Duke Law or University students, faculty, and staff are authorized to be in the Law School building; others are required to leave.

Exceptions: The library will be closed on Monday, January 21 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day). During Spring Break (Friday 3/8 - Saturday 3/16), library access & service hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Duke Law community retains 24-hour DukeCard access during all holiday closures.
Access to Law Library during Reading/Exam Period (4/19 - 5/3)
During the Law School's Reading & Examination period, access to the Goodson Law Library for study purposes is restricted to current Law School students, faculty and staff. Visitors who need to access the library for research purposes may visit the library when service desk staff are on duty (Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; contact Circulation/Reserve Desk for assistance during staffed evenings and weekends).
