Local community service opportunities for alumni

Law alumni are invited to join other Duke alums in cities around the world for day-long service projects during Duke Alums Engage week, April 21-29.

The Duke Alums Engage program helps alumni tap into the spirit of Duke’s commitment to knowledge in the service of society. Through hands-on projects, alumni are invited to examine and address the social and political issues impacting their local communities.     On a Friday afternoon in April, about 150 people crowded into the Bullpen, Duke’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship hub in downtown Durham, filling the high-ceilinged spaces of the former tobacco warehouse alongside walls of whiteboards and flatscreens. They were there to listen as seven entrepreneurs pitched them their ideas for applying technology to a profession that has historically been resistant to such overtures: the law.
