Kim Chemerinsky

Kim Chemerinsky JD ’07 has joined Rushing McCarl LLP, a Los Angeles–based business-litigation boutique, as a partner. She joins from Alston & Bird, where she built a national practice representing companies in high-profile disputes. Chemerinsky will continue advising California businesses in regulatory and internal investigations, class actions, securities litigation, and complex contract and tort matters.

Hira Arif LLM ’15 was named Leader of the Year 2025 at Jeeny, a Middle East–based transportation and delivery company. Since joining Jeeny as Head of Legal, Riar has led the evolution of the legal function into a compliance-driven, strategic partner to senior leadership, supporting risk management and responsible growth across multiple jurisdictions.

Robert DeNault JD ’21 has been appointed head of enforcement at prediction market platform Kalshi. In the role, he coordinates with the company’s Surveillance Advisory Committee, market surveillance partners, and compliance team to prevent and detect insider trading and market manipulation. He joined Kalshi in late 2025 after practicing in the global white collar crime group at White & Case LLP.

Paul Genender JD ’94 has joined the advisory board of the Wilson Center for Science and Justice at Duke Law School. A partner at Paul Hastings, he serves as co-chair of the firm’s Dallas office and its Complex Litigation and Arbitration practice, as well as chair of the Texas Commercial Litigation practice. The advisory board provides strategic guidance to advance data-driven criminal justice reform initiatives.

Abdul Kallon

Emily Johnson JD ’10 has joined Latham & Watkins as a partner in the New York office, where she is a member of the Banking & Private Credit and Capital Markets practices. She advises public companies, corporate borrowers, and strategic acquirers on complex financings, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and spin-offs, with experience spanning investment-grade and leveraged financings, capital markets transactions, and liability management.

Abdul Kallon LLM ’20 is a senior member of McGuireWoods’ trials team following the firm’s launch of a new Seattle office. A former U.S. District Court judge for the Northern District of Alabama, he previously co-chaired Perkins Coie’s trial practice group and advises clients in the technology, communications, retail, and consumer products sectors on complex commercial, multidistrict, and labor and employment litigation.
