In Memoriam: Amelia Tauchen Marguet '10
Amelia Tauchen Marguet ’10 passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Philippe R. Marguet (Duke PhD 2010), her parents, Duke Economics Professor George Tauchen and UNC Economics Professor Helen V. Tauchen, and many other family members and friends.
Amelia attended Cornell University before coming to Duke Law in 2007. At Duke, she participated in Moot Court and received the Intellectual Property Award in 2010. She also was an executive editor for Duke's Law and Contemporary Problems journal. She served as a summer associate at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP in 2008 and at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in 2009.
After graduation in 2010, Amelia served as a law clerk to the Honorable William C. Bryson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. In November 2011, she joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s Palo Alto office as an associate.
A memorial service will be held in San Francisco on Saturday, March 17, at 3 p.m. at McAvoy O'Hara & Evergreen Mortuary. Another service will be held on Saturday, March 31, at 3:30 p.m. in the Doris Duke Center in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens at Duke University in Durham, N.C.
