Careers in Business Litigation: Securities and White Collar Corporate Crime

November 17, 2015 • 12:30 PM • Law School 3037

The Business Law Society invites you to learn from leading practitioners about the role attorneys play in Securities Litigation and White Collar Defense, one of the most exciting and challenging litigation fields available to lawyers today. Partners Julia Jordan (Sullivan & Cromwell DC) and Michael Kelly (Hogan Lovells DC) will explore recent large scale criminal and civil actions brought by state and federal governmental entities against corporate clients highlighting the advisory and legal roles attorneys play. Both panelists will discuss the transition from the public to private sector, the unique regulatory enforcement relationship involved in this field, and the high stakes nature of these "bet the company" cases. The panel will be moderated by former federal prosecutor and Covington & Burling (DC) associate, Professor Sam Buell. Thank you to Sullivan and Cromwell for their generosity in sponsoring this event. Lunch will be provided. For more information please contact Devon McLaughlin at devon.mclaughlin@duke.edu.
