PILF Fundraisers

Every year, PILF hosts several fundraising events including:

Callback Program

Participating law firms make a donation to PILF for each law student who opts to stay with family or friends or double-up with another Duke Law student rather than staying at a hotel paid for by the law firm when travelling for callback interviews. Many firms are eager to participate and support students pursuing public interest work. For more details, a list of previously participating firms, and a sample email request, please review this information sheet.

Please email Bo Stewart with any questions or for more information.

Duke Law Merchandise Sales

Duke Law merchandise is available exclusively through Duke Law PILF sales. In cooperation with the Duke University Stores, PILF organizes a merchandise sale each month and the Duke Stores donate a significant portion of the proceeds to PILF. Merchandise may include Duke Law t-shirts, hats, fleeces, polos, sweatshirts, and more. This year, each sale will feature five different items. Many of these items will only be sold at one sale, so be sure to check each sale for the items you want.

Please email Courtney Magnus or Eileen Ulate with any questions or for more information.

Hire-A-PILFer

For a donation to PILF, Duke Law Faculty and Staff can "hire" a Duke Law student to help with any projects they may have. In the past, students have raked leaves, babysat, helped with birthday parties, and much more. If you need it done, we can help! The suggested donation is $25 per hour, per student. To hire one or more students for your project, simply fill out the request form

Please email Taylor Jones with any questions. Thank you for your support of the mission of PILF and the students who want to work in Public Interest careers!

PILF Auction & Gala

PILF Auction & Gala 2011

The PILF Auction & Gala is an annual cocktail party fundraiser that draws high levels of participation among students, faculty, staff and alumni. By donating and bidding on a wide range of both silent and live auction items, the entire Law School community comes together for this popular event in order to support students engaged in summer public interest internships.
