  • The workshop will examine the hypothesis that certain fundamental principles of bankruptcy reorganization law can prudently and equitably resoslve the debt restructuring problems of financially troubled municipalities around the world. In that context, Professor Steven Schwarcz of the Law School will present these principles and discuss how they might be applied to Japan's municipal debt crisis as well as to the municipal debt problems of developing nations.
