Deborah Ross lives in Raleigh, NC, where she has practiced law for more than twenty years. She graduated from Brown University in 1985 and UNC Law School in 1990. Currently, Deborah practices law with Styers, Kemerait & Mitchell. She also teaches as a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke Law School. In 2002, she was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives, where she has served five terms.
Community involvement is very important to Deborah. She has served on several nonprofit boards and government commissions. She has received numerous awards for her community service. She is an Aspen Rodel Fellow, a Toll Fellow, and a William Friday Fellow for Human Relations. In 2011, she received an honorary doctorate in Public Administration from Peace College.
Deborah has been married to Steve Wrinn since 1994. She and Steve renovated an old house in Boylan Heights. They adopted Ralph, their dog, from the Wake County SPCA.
