- Women Law Students Association
- LEAD Fellow
When I was deciding where to attend law school, I knew I wanted to be somewhere with a strong sense of community where people were genuinely excited to be there. I have certainly found this to be the case here, as the excitement that people have about Duke Law can be felt through the professors, students, and alumni network.
Being involved in writing and developing a comedy show for the law school was the most fun and rewarding experience of my first year of law school. Looking out and seeing a packed venue of students at an amateur law-school-themed sketch comedy show was incredibly rewarding, and it was a fun way to bring the Duke Law community together.
- Stay in touch with your friends and family outside of law school.
- Focus on your own goals rather than comparing yourself to others.
- Go for walks!!!
My advice if you are thinking about law school
I would encourage anyone who is considering law school to do it. Studying law is unique because it overlaps with so many other disciplines. Even if you end up pursuing a career outside of the legal field, having a background in law will still be incredibly useful. My second piece of advice is go to Duke!
Meet more of our JD students who make this a great community. They offer great advice if you're thinking about law school.
