Today is round 2 of ‘Who’s new at Duke Law?’ – introducing some of the amazing new JD & LLM students coming to Duke Law this fall! UVA grad Kate Wozniak ’25 (she/her) may have been cheering for 'the other team' when Zion Williamson & @dukembb rolled into town in 2019. We’re hoping she’s a #BlueDevil now! While studying Public Policy/Leadership and Sociology in undergrad, Kate says she grew to appreciate how lawyers work with clients and how life-changing “even brief encounters with the criminal justice system can be.” Luis Gabriel Jiménez LLM ’23 (he/him) sees the law and acts of service as avenues for meaningful change and personal fulfillment. “I could contribute to foster socioeconomic development, access to resources and education, and environmental sustainability.” Fun fact: Luis Gabriel grew 200+ trees in the Bogotá savannah in Colombia. Claire Simpson ’25 (she/her) graduated from Dickinson College, double-majoring in Quantitative Economics and International Studies. She wants to work in the law “to change the criminal judicial system for the better.” A fun fact about Claire: She loves skiing and loves winter! A Cornell grad, Helen Li ’25 (she/her) just published a paper on developing the first model of Alzheimer’s Disease in the human retina. It features research she did as a summer intern @cuanschutz. Fun fact: Helen is a great artist, too! Her work was featured in a 2017 exhibit @ncartmuseum. “The field of law p
