Catherine Lawson
Senior Lecturing Fellow

Catherine Lawson is an attorney and advocate who cares about sustainable civic engagement and the irreplaceable work of citizenship in America. As an attorney and former clerk to the Chief Justice of North Carolina, she practiced data privacy and complex commercial litigation before state and federal courts at all levels, including on appeal. She is working on a book about promoting civic participation that empowers people to improve their world through sustained commitment to consensus decision-making.

Ms. Lawson attended Duke University School of Law, where she was an ABA national moot court champion and an editor of the Duke Law Journal of Comparative & International Law. She is a graduate of American University.
