Andrew Willinger is the executive director of the Center for Firearms Law. Prior to joining the Center in 2022, he was a litigation associate at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler in New York. At Patterson, Willinger litigated complex commercial disputes and false advertising and defamation cases. He also provided pro bono representation to military veterans seeking to access federal and state benefits.
From 2018 to 2019, Willinger clerked for Judge William L. Osteen, Jr. of the Middle District of North Carolina. Willinger graduated magna cum laude from Duke Law School in 2016. During law school, he was a staff editor for the Duke Law Journal and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in government and Asian studies from Dartmouth College.
