Walter Samuel Lockhart
Associate Professor of Law, 1912-1913, Professor of Law, 1913-1930

Walter Lockhart received an A. B. from Trinity College in 1904.  After graduating he stayed on at the college as a teacher at Trinity Park School, a private preparatory school operated by the college to produce highly qualified candidates for college admission.  From 1909 to 1911 Lockhart studied law at Trinity College Law School, and then spent the 1911-1912 academic year at Harvard Law.  Lockhart joined the Trinity faculty as an associate professor of law in 1912.  His law degree, an LL.B., was conferred by Trinity College in 1913. 

Lockhart retired from teaching in 1930 but continued a private practice.  He died in Durham in 1940.
