Center on Law, Ethics and National Security

The Center sponsors a number of conferences and other programs each year that focus on topics of current interest to the national security community. It works both independently and with other local, national and international organizations to bring together scholars, policymakers and practitioners in forums where there can be open comment and debate among the participants.

Each spring the Center hosts a major national security law conference in Durham. Recent conferences have focused on "National Security under a New Administration," "Confronting Terrorism Here and Abroad," and "US National Security Strategy."

For more than a decade, the Center has joined with the American Bar Association's Standing Committee on Law and National Security to present an annual national security law update and review conference in Washington, D.C.
