Click here to apply to the 2024 Duke-Leiden Summer Institute.

Application deadline is March 1st for those interested in housing through the Institute, and May 1st for others arranging their own housing.

Applicants should complete the online application form. Students seeking to apply academic credit earned in the program to an American law school must submit a letter of good standing. It should be noted that overseas summer programs should not be used as a means of accelerating graduation.

Submission of the application must be closely followed by a tuition deposit of U.S. $500 and a non-refundable registration fee of U.S. $350. Payments may be made in one of three ways: 1) by check in U.S. dollars, drawn on a U.S. bank, and made payable, to the order of "Duke University - Duke-Leiden Institute" OR 2) by bank wire in U.S. dollars (contact Bonnie Blundell for wiring details) OR 3) by International Postal Money Order. Note: Any wiring fee must be paid by the applicant. These payments will be applied against tuition, student accommodation fees, and registration, respectively. The balance of all other fees are due by May 15th and should be remitted by check, bank wire, or International Postal Money Order in U.S. dollars in the same way.

Applications will be accepted on a continuing basis until the program is fully subscribed. Places in the Institute are limited, however, and it is advisable to apply before March 1st. If for any reason an applicant is not accepted into the program, the tuition and housing fees will be refunded in full. Refunds of tuition and student accommodations fees will be given only to an applicant who withdraws for exceptional reasons. No refunds will be given after June 9.
