March 22, 2018 • 12:30 PM • Law School 3041
Join the American Constitution Society as we learn about the biggest labor case this Supreme Court term from the counsel who argued it. David Frederick, veteran Supreme Court advocate, joins us to discuss his most recent oral argument in Janus v. AFSCME. In Janus, the court considered whether to overrule the landmark labor case Abood v. Detroit Board of Education, and its holding that public employees can be required to pay union dues. Lunch will be provided. Sponsored by the American Constitution Society. For more information, please contact Jack Smith at jack.c.smith@duke.edu.
