Capitalism v. Democracy: Money in Politics and the Free Market Constitution

October 08, 2014 • 12:30 PM • Law School 3041

Join Duke Law alum and Georgia State University College of Law Professor Timothy K. Kuhner, who will give a talk and answer questions on his newly released book, "Capitalism v. Democracy: Money in Politics and the Free Market Constitution." In the book, Kuhner analyzes a sample of campaign finance cases between Buckley and McCutcheon, and argues that the Supreme Court has employed a radical form of economic ideology to defeat campaign finance reform, opening the door to the corruption of democracy and capitalism in the process. Copies of the books will be available for sale after the event. Sponsored by the Program in Public Law. Lunch will be served.
