Collateral Consequences Lunch & Learn
September 16, 2024 • 12:30 PM • Law School 4042
Collateral consequences are the legal sanctions and restrictions imposed upon people because of their criminal record. Collateral consequences can impact many areas of a person's life, from housing and employment opportunities to driver's license access to problems with immigration and child custody. Join Legal Aid Attorney Jessica Luong, Duke Law Criminal Defense Clinic Supervising Attorney Lauren Fine, and Durham District Court Judge Amanda Maris for a lunch & learn about how these collateral consequences can persist for years or even decades after an arrest or conviction. Sponsored by Duke Fair Chance Project. For more information, contact Caitlyn Leary at caitlyn.leary@duke.edu. Please RSVP at https://forms.gle/673zHVwkLgFsfHiU6
