Join us for a pivotal discussion on "Familiarity Breeds Contempt or Deference? An Empirical Study of Appellate Judicial Panels" by Professor Yun-chien Chang, Jack G. Clarke Professor in East Asian Law, Cornell University, explore the impact of familiarity within a career judge system in Taiwan, by utilizing an extensive dataset of 84,335 decisions from Taiwanese appellate courts on civil cases. Professor Jonathan Petkun at Duke Law School will join as an expert commentator.
