Please join us as we hear from Norm Champ, who will be discussing insights from his new book: "Going Public: My Adventures Inside the SEC and How to Prevent the Next Devastating Crisis" http://amzn.to/2nvFrgm. When Champ joined the SEC in 2009, the agency was under pressure to reign in Wall Street. There was little doubt the SEC had to fix rules that permitted bad behavior and start to enforce existing laws. Champ was eager to be a part of this positive change, but quickly realized not everyone shared his desire for change. Going Public offers a behind-the-scenes look at the SEC's arcane culture and Champ's efforts to lead reforms to stabilize the American financial system. Champ is currently a partner in the Private Funds Group at Kirkland & Ellis and a lecturer at Harvard Law School. Sponsored by the Global Financial Markets Center.
