Join Amna Guellali, a Tunisia and Algeria Researcher of the Middle East and North Africa Division at the Human Rights Watch, for a lecture titled "Human Rights and Counter-Terrorism in Tunisia." In December 2010, Mohamed Bouazizi, a Tunisian street vendor, set himself on fire in protest, which served as a catalyst for the Tunisian Revolution and the broader Arab Spring. Nearly six years on and in an increasingly securitized environment, this event will focus on human rights and counter-terrorism and the example of Tunisia. Lunch will be provided.
