Insurance cuts across virtually every aspect of life and legal practice. Come hear from Richard Hsia, one of the nation's leading insurance-law experts, as he discusses the fundamentals of insuring against risk and provides an overview of insurance law and regulation. Mr. Hsia is the former Deputy Superintendent of Insurance for the State of New York, where he played key roles in state, interstate, and international insurance and regulatory initiatives. Thereafter, he was the executive vice president, general counsel, and creative director of a leading insurance and risk-management firm, focusing on managing, financing, and insuring risk for the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. A David Rockefeller Fellow and member of the Foreign Policy Association and the New York Academy of Sciences, Mr. Hsia served on the New York City World Trade Center Insurance Task Force in the aftermath of 9/11.
